69^TH Annual Session of the IRC will be held at Kolkata at Salt Lake Stadium (Yuba Bharati Krirangan) during 13^th to 16^th December, 2008. Kolkata is the second most populus city in the world and is the capital of the State of West Bengal. The city still remains the cultural and intellectual capital of India with her commitments from all over the Sub Continent.  

           Programme of the Annual Session includes Registration of Delegates, Discussion of Technical Papers, Talk by Experts, Technical and Research Presentations, Technical Exhibition, Meeting of Council, Highway Research Board, General Body and Secretary / Engineer - in - Chief / Chief Engineer's Meeting.  

           Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Public Works & Public Works (Roads) Department is the Member - Convener of the Advisory Committee.  Engineer - in - Chief & Ex-officio Secretary, Public Works & Public Works (Roads) Department, is the Chairman and Secretary, Housing Department is the Co-Chairman of the Steering Committee. Sri Santanu Basu Rai Chowdhury, Chief Engineer & Director, R.B.R.I. Public Works (Roads) Directorate is the Local Organising Secretary, Sri Swapan Sen, Assistant Chief Engineer - III, Public Works Department is the Treasurer and Sri Bibek Raha, Superintending Engineer, State Highway Circle No. I, Public Works (Roads) Directorate is the Liaison Officer of the Organising Committee for the 69^th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress to be held at Kolkata in December, 2008.
